Question:
Has anyone had severe lower abdominal pain?
I am 4 days post op and still having severe pains in my lower abdomen (really closer to my ovaries and uterus). It is a very sharp pain that increases as I walk or take a deep breath. I usually have to sit and wait for it to pass before moving at all. — BrandiS (posted on April 24, 2010)

following surgery I was shopping in the mall.Everyone's body is different
,I would call the dr to be safe.

Kidney stones usually begins with a sharp pain in your back or side. The
pain usually begins with the stone leaves your kidney and enters the
ureter. It isn't until the stone is about to pass that you would feel it
in the lower abdomem. For some people the stone travels down within a day
but for others of us with larger stones it can longer and the pain can last
for weeks or months without surgery. My first stone I had surgery after 2
months of intense pain. I have another two in me now and I've been dealing
with them for 6 months now. I just began a new job and I cannot take a
couple days off to have surgery and recooperate so I've put off having
surgery. It really doesn't sound like you have kidney stones to me. Or at
least your symptoms don't match mine. Of course I do realize we are all
different. Anyway my pain never leaves me. Sometimes it's a dull pain and
sometimes its a pain worse than childbirth but it's always there. But
whether it's stones or your gall bladder or any number of other things you
really should see a doctor. You don't want to take the chance doing damage
to your body. You're only a few days out and your body is very sensitive
and needs to be taken care of properly. We cannot diagnose only your
doctor can. Good luck and please let us know how you're doing.
