Question:
thiamine (B 1) suppliments how much?
I've been advised to take a B1 (thiamine) suppliment, but not told how much. Does anyone else here take B 1 and how much — lucyfur (posted on October 29, 2009)

I take one tablet per Doctor once a week and i usually set a certain day
for doing so. You can buy the generic at Walmart and has like 60 some in it
and the whole bottle is going to last me for a year.

I try to take 75-100 mg a day, this is the amount that my Dr. told me to
take. It makes me sick but it is essential.

If they told you to take this you need to call and ask how much they think
you need. this is a very essential vit and you do not want a deficency

The amount you need to take is really specific to you and your blood work.
The dr will have to let you know the correct amount for you. Good luck!

I take the chewable Bariatric Advantage Multi-Vitamins, which are supposed
to be complete except for the B-12 and Calcium Citrate. It has 6 grams of
B-1 (Thiamine) or 400% of our daily RDA. The vitamins are made
specifically for those people who've had gastric bypass and are available
from www.BariatricAdvantage.com. They even have a program set up where, if
you buy a 3 month supply and sign up for their automatic refill program,
they will ship to you free of charge every three months and just bill your
credit card. I've also begun ordering their new probiotic chewables from
them on the same basis. I believe in their products and all my labs have
been fine.
