Yes. It could be trapped gas. Move around as much as you can. That is what
I had to do. The anathesia settles in your upper and lower back and takes
about 10 days to work itself out plus they lay you in all kinds of rude
positions for surgery and push on you and stuff. Take hot showers and move
around. Make sure you are sippin' enough water. K? God bless you.

It could be from the anesthesia or gas pain. Some post op patients
experience a mild pain for a short time after surgery. It could be gas, it
might not feel like your normal "gas" feeling, but it is trapped
and feeling sharp or even like a heart attack. If it gets worse or doesn't
go away, then go see your doctor.

I am 4 weeks out and have the same thing. It feels like a pulling or
tearing in my right side. I spoke to my GP and they said it doesnt seam
like a hernia. It happens when I try to sleep on my right side or once
when bending to get out of the car. I dont know what it is but it is
slowly getting better. Good luck.

I had the same thing at about 8 - 10 days out.... and I think it WAS a
strained muscle. In the hospital, you have this nice, adjustable hospital
bed, so you never really have to turn over to be comfortable. But, once
you get home, you end up having to turn over in bed and I think that's when
it happened. I strained to turn over, and zap, got a pain in my right side
that felt like a pulled muscle. They told me to go to the ER anyway, just
to make sure it wasn't a clot to the lung.... so went, and spent about 4
hours just sitting there waiting to go to x-ray, and then waiting for them
to look at the films, and then waiting for them to remember I was there and
come tell me they didn't see anything to worry about. :-\

The pain is from them cutting through the muscle you have 6 layers of
muscle in the stomach and it hurts like heck when they cut it. It took me
2-3 months before the pain went away..

No it's not a strained muscle.
Think about the surgery they did.
There is going to be pain.
There is going to be soreness.
