you should call your doctor. However, you should be able to take zantac and
walking will help tremedously!

I know you don't want to hear "there is a med for that", but
there IS a med for that. Ask your surgeon to prescribe it. I had the
Sleeve and had to take it for a couple of months. I have a lap band friend
who has to take it every day, now four years out. We're all different.
But untreated heartburn can be distructive to your body, so don't try to
just ride it out. Be kind to yourself; you've started a new, wonderful
journey.

Is it "gas" from the surgery or actual heartburn?
1. walk, walk, then walk some more (for gas from the surgery). This can
take a couple weeks to clear up. Most pain is usually in the L shoulder
and chest area
2. call your Dr. get medication for the heartburn. This can lead to
complications you don't want if left untreated.

Hi, I had a sleeve, and heartburn, so so bad, the doc put me on nexium,
totally worked, but before I could get that I took gas X strips, they work
o.k but the nexium works so much better, all I can say is call the doc
immediatley and dont suffer.

Yes, please call your surgeon however, I had the sleeve and SUFFERED with
it for over 2 weeks thinking it was just gas. I was told to take Prilosec
OTC (SP?) and it made a HUGE difference. Good Luck and don't spend another
hour suffering. :-)

Hi,
I started getting heartburn 1 year later after lap band. The doctor did
put me on medicine but, I'll be honest I don't take it like I should. I
would rather take tums which helps me and believe or not milk. DRINK the
MILK it helps

surgery as I have Acid Reflux.
