My first meal was Wendy's chili. And it was the BEST chili I'd ever eaten.
lol It's really trial and error. Just be very careful with the meats.
Make sure they are chopped super fine or you will likely end up with the
case of the faomies. (Where you gag but nothing really comes up but saliva
all foamed up.) It's very unpleasant. Just use common sense and be sure
to chew, chew, chew! Consistency is the most important issue here.

Hey there! Congrats on getting to your next stage! I am two months out
and am so happy to finally be at this point. Try cottage cheese, low
sodium cold cuts like ham and
turkey. Grilled & rotissiere (sp?) chicken is good. I made turkey
chili which is yummy! Just remember to chew chew chew! Oh, tuna and egg
salad with light or low fat mayo is good too! You'll be surprised that
things you used to love don't taste as good anymore when you actually have
to chew and taste them. It's the weirdest thing. Good luck and have fun
experimenting!

Like Paula, I was told to try Wendy's Chili. It's cooked for a long time so
the meat is tender. Also like Paula said, it is alot of trial and error. By
chance, did your surgeon give you a sample diet? Mine gave me a week by
week sample diet. Let me know if you want to see what is on my list.

My best advice is to go very slowly. Introduce only one new food (meats
especially) per day. Small bites, chewed till they are liquified in your
mouth. Me and chicken are not good friends still at 4 mos. out. Sometimes
my pouch argues with pork chops too.
