Is it safe to have a COLONOSCOPY after RNY Bypass?

Can't speak for anyone else but myself. I had colonoscopy by my Dr. and
everything went well.

I didn't have any problems, but make sure the doctor who performs it is
well informed of your RNY.

I would just make sure the doctor who ordered it & the one doing it
knows you had RNY Bypass surgery. I would also check with my WLS doctor as
well.

The scope comes no-where near where you have been modified, so barring
other issues, it should be perfectly safe to have a colonoscopy after an
RnY.

Just had my second colonoscopy after RYN Gastric Bypass. The scope only
goes a short way into the small intestine...not near the area where the
bypass was done. It is safe. And easier to do the prep! LOL

Teh colon is not chenged by the RNY proceedure so other than the prep stuff
it should be no problem
