Question:
no question just a post op remark
I had my surgery Jan,8 09. Can out from surgery in practically NO pain didn't really need any pain meds. Had NO problem swallowing or eatting. Lost 15lbs in 8 days but have lost 42 since the beginning of this venture which started back in April of 08. Hardly see good things just problems big or small posted. Just wanted to let everyone know that I had this with no problems. Wish I had done it years ago. I will say follow the Dr. rules to the letter. I'm so happy I did this. I feel great no more med.s of any kind. I just doing GREAT good luck to you all billy joe — BJW12 (posted on January 18, 2009)

You and I are a couple of the fortunate ones Billy. I have had no problems
either. I do try to stick with my Doc's advice, and I walk or ride my
stationary bike every day. There are many though who do these same things
and still have problems. But I do agree that we want to let others who are
considering the surgery know that things do go well! Congrats on your
success. Hang in there.

Welcome to the ranks of those of us who are complication free. You're right
that there don't seem to be a lot of posts that show how many of us there
are. I'm very thankful to be one of the fortunate.

I also had RNY surgery on Jan 8th, and I am in the NO problem camp. I am
tolerating everything my Dr suggested and have had no problems. I was off
my pain meds within 3 days post op. I have discontinued 2 diabetic meds
and the blood pressure med I was on. I love my RNY and look forward to a
healther life that lies ahead.

I had my surgery 2 months ago and i am doing very well! I really believe
that if you have a great attitude for this surgery then you will feel great
and have great success. We really should not look for problems that
probably aren't even there.

Good for you! I was basically the same...I had no trouble at all....(Just
a lot of weird changes) I think that with all the thousands of surgeries
being done daily, most people are just living life not needing to ask
questions at all! And that is truly wonderful...If there were so many
people not doing great...there would be a heck of a lot more questions than
the several that are posted daily! ...It's good for all of us to see
someone doing great and wanting to share that! So...may your journey be
long and healthy and your successes be grand!

Hello:
I had my RNY surgery Jan. 6, 2009 and also feel great. Almost no pain
and no pain meds the second day after surgery. Lost 15lbs before surgery
and 10lbs since the surgery date. I have done a little mall walking and
have
even picked up a one year old baby. So far so good. My tastebuds have
changed and I crave lemon and salt, not sugar. Very happy so far.

See what you started? I guess those of us who have had a great post op
experience have not been vocal enough. I had my RNY on October 7, 2009 and
feel like I should be a poster child for the surgery. I have felt well and
have yet to have many problems with food. The key I think is to have
confidence in your team and to follow their directions exactly. That has
been my game plan. I am glad you are doing well. PAM

Billy, Congrats on your success. I too had very few problems. They took my
pain pump away from me because I didn't use it. I am 3 months post-op and
have lost 70 lbs. I can't do sugars, sugar alcohols, or fats which is a
good thing. The taste buds have changed alot since surgery.
