Just guessing here....
PAT may stand for Pre-admission Testing. That means tests you have to have
before surgery, like some blood work, may be a chest x-ray, an EKG, may be
a Sleep Study. By "scope" perhaps you're referring to an
Endoscopy. Most people have one before surgery. They sedate you and give
you a drug called Versed. You won't remember anything - they put a tiny
camera down your throat so the Doctor can take a look at your stomach and
esophagus (food pipe). PAT is also the name of a heart arrhythmia where the
heart beats faster than normal. Hope I was helpful..
