"only" 30 pounds? "only"? Could you have lost 30 pounds in 3 weeks on your own before surgery? You are doing GREAT.

You will lose more per week at first.... then slow down, but steadily lose... you may/will hit Plateaus, where you won't lose weight for 1 to 3 weeks, but these do pass, so don't let Plateaus surprise you. I am 6 months out and lose between 1 to 3 pounds per week now, about 10 pounds per month. Most people continue to lose weight for about a year or more, so you and I both have plenty more to lose, so hang in there.

Hey now! This is not the olympics! LOL You are doing great sweetie...It's not a sprintto the finish line...It's a year log stroll...and we all lose at our own rate..some move along as FAST as you are and some slower...but after a year....most lose 100 lbs...some of us heavier weights lose 150-200...Some just don't HAVE that much to lose. Give yourself a year...expect some slow times...You're well on your way...Much luck!

Your doing great. You body just found out you are cutting back so it is hanging on. That is what we all call Plateau, and it can last for three weeks. I find that I lose inches still during Plateaus, and then I have this sudden weight drop when it let's go a I start to lose pounds again. It is a long road, so enjoy the time you have on it and stay off the scale every day. Best of success.

I had gastric bypass on 7/17 and I've only lost 26lbs and 12 were in the first 6 days. Like everyone says we are all different and will lose differently. If you think about it this way it helps - 30lbs every 5 weeks and in 5 months you'll be down 90lbs. Make sure you're keeping up the exercise - I just started regular exercise and I started losing faster for sure! Congratulations and good luck! You'll do fine.

wow 30 lbs in 3 weeks is amazing. i lost 30 lbs prior to surgery in may and then when i came home i gained 10 from the fluids. that came off in 2 days and then i lost about 26 pounds the first month. the second month about 15, the third month about 15 or so. now i am lucky if i lose 3 lbs a week. i am almost on month 4 and down a total of 91 pounds including the initial loss pre surgery. So in a nutshell, i think you are doing fantastik!!!

You are doing well. Congrats!! I had rny on 6-19 and have lost about 37 lbs since. I was dehydrated for 3 weeks, so didn't lose anything. Now I am doing better. But I find I lose about a pound every four days. I drink around 70 ounces a day and I get between 50-65 grams of protein. My calorie intake varies from -a low dayof 250 to a high day day 650 + some foods that I don't really know calorie count on. I was drinking a lot of milk, but now have found flavored water to make my protein shakes from. No sugars , no calories, and 5 mg sodium. fruit 2 O, or nestles. I could not consume the sugar free stuff early on as it gagged me and turned my stomach, so I drank milk, then I found this water which has no affect on me. And I can't taste the protein powder-unjury unflavored--add walking to your daily routine...and enjoy the loss you have already undertaken!! kim

I had gastric bypass on June 4th and to date have only lost 32 lbs, you are doing great. I was 241 the day of surgery and currently weigh 209. I lose approx 2 lbs a week and have had a few weeks where I didn't lose anything. keep up the good work
