So sorry to hear you are having pain. I am not sure which type of WLS you
had, but I started having left side abdominal pain three weeks out from
lapband surgery after I got over the two weeks of almost unbearable
shoulder pain. My surgeon recommended using liquid motrin four times a
day. I am six weeks out and the pain has subsided a lot without the
motrin. I didn't like taking the liquid motrin because it caused me
diarrhea. I believe the pain was just my body's way of saying there was a
foreign object. However, you should always bring up the issue of pain with
your surgeon. Wishing you the best on your journey.

Again, I don't know the type of surgery you had, but if it was an RNY, they
sew you old stomack to keep it from sagging. I had some pain for 8 weeks
and others had almost nothing. Ask your doctor, as they will tell you what
might cause the problem. Also, you could have some scare tissue that is
still healing from RNY.

I only had stomach pain a couple times and both times I took Gas X and the
pain would subside...I would definately check with your
surgeon/nutritionist first. Good luck and God bless!

Is the pain near the incesion on the left? That is the side they do all
the work from. A friend of mine who had RNY had alot of pain there and
they that is what they told her. To be sure though I'd call the DR. Best
of Luck
