Hi Anna, I am 3 years post op. I gained about 17 pounds since year two and
just recently lost 8 of those pounds. I had to get real with myself and
admit that the slider foods was the cause. I was addicted to carbs. I was
eating 4 packs of peanut butter crackers a day. I heard about the 5 day
pouch test diet and it worked. Kay Bailey has a site Living after WLS which
explains it. You can google it. You can email me personally if you need
more help. good luck. Susan

THIS IS MY WORST FEAR OF HAVING WLS AND I KNOW MANY DEAL WITH THE WEIGHT
GAIN. i have heard that if you go back to the liquid diet for a couple days
or a week that it will jump start the weight loss again. sit down and
really evaluate what you are eating, because alot of times people don't
even realize they are eating the wrong things or how much of the wrong
things they are eating, ya know? maybe meet with a nutritionist and see if
they can give you some pointers. your surgeon may also be a good one to
contact. hope this helps... Holly

Hi, I had the bypass about 3 yrs ago and started gaining weight and very
upset with my self. I gained about 20 pounds and feel terrible. I never
felt that I lost all the weight I should have. Now I'm going for a
procedure called the stomaphx on monday 10-1-07 no cutting all is done
through your mouth to your stomach. I will let you know how it goes. wish
me luck!!

This is a long term group that's been arounh since 1999. So many others
find the regain after year 2 and many have not changed anything about their
program that was working. First thing to look at is mechanical breakdown
of some sort, then maybe making some changes in the types of food eating.

Someone said they have gained 90 pounds. Well I have gained 40 and I am
willing to go under the knife again. I am seeking a revision to a duodenal
switch. Wish I had done that to begin with and not the RnY. You have to
decide what you really want. I could not lose the weight and I think the DS
is the most up-to-date and on the money as far as WLS. Lots of reasons to
do it. Check out duodenalswitch.com and also the DS forum here on OH. If
that is not the route for you, check out Stomaphyx, a fairly new procedure
to shrink the stoma.
