I keep getting conflicting answers from Cigna, need 2 know does AT&T have an exclusion for WSL in MO or KS for occupational employees? — ladyspann (posted on September 19, 2007)

Hi. I do not work for AT&T, however, I do have Cigna! And you just
need to call to see if your plan covers bariatric surgery! Mine does, and
I am scheduled for surgery on the 27th of this month!! It has been a long
process, I started researching over a year ago, had to do a 6 month dr
supervised diet...and a couple of other things. So it has been a year in
the works!! Good luck!

I no longer live in Kansas, but when my husband worked for SBC now AT&T
several people in his office had the surgery. This was 5 years ago, but
they were doing them then.

hello this isn't an exact answer to your tbl but i am an occupational in
IL and my bcbs of il did pay for my LB in march of this year so i don't
think that the co. has any exculsions but that you ins co. is to blame.
you may need to wait till the 1st of the year and switch to horizon bcbs of
il.
without ins this proceedure would have cost $30,000 per the statements that
i saw on mine.

totally different ins. but, when i kept getting conflicting information
from ins company. I had them send me everything on the critieria for the
surgery in writing and when through it myself. Then called back with the
printout and spoke with someone to explain a few things. Always best to
have it in writing. That helped me.

Hi, I live in Ky. and have Cigna. I have fought for 8 months, and finally
had my surgery approved. They will pay for it, but they want everything
documented exact. I appealed twice, and finally won the battle. Don't
give up!
