You have to shock your body by doing something different--go back to your
protein drinks for a week, or do different exercises, anything out of the
norm that you are doing now for a full week, that should kick start you
back on the road to losing. Good luck!

I haven't had to deal with this as yet but we talked about it at a support
group meeting and were told you have to increase your food intake to jump
start your body so I would contact my nutritionist and ask just how much he
or she suggests. You are doing great. Keep up the good work.njkbutton

I have had more than one plateau lasting 3-4 weeks, so I don't think it's
really unusual. I was 266lbs before I started this whole thing and my goal
was 160-170; I'm currently at 140. Just make sure you're still following
the basics -- taking in the liquids and protein that your nutritionist
recommends, read the nutition labels before you buy, measure/weigh your
food if you haven't done so in a while (so you know that you're not taking
in more calories than you think you are), and and keeping starches to a
minimum.

Hi Kar-Re, thanks for asking your question. I looked on your site and you
haven't posted since November, so I don't know how much you have lost, but
you have done very well so far girl, congratulations! Remember your body
is an active supply or organs and tissue, and it takes time for it
sometimes to catch up with what you are doing. You have been obese for a
long time, and it(your body) will fight you tooth and nail to stay obese
(hense the head issues).
If you are doing everything your doctors says, and not cheating on foods
and exercise, then you might need to back up a little and give your body a
rest for a week, then hits the basics again, push water for the majority of
your fluid and try again. Examine what you are eating, and what you are
doing for physical exercise. If you are not challenging yourself enough,
perhaps you will need to step up your exercise to get moving again. Either
way, you have a lot to be thankful for.
Obesity is a tough thing, and as you tackle those head issues of hunger and
deception you will find your body will also fight you some. Lay the truth
out for yourself as to what you are doing, and make any adjustments you
have to so you can get moving again. The more you lose the slower it will
be.
If you are right on track with water, protein and exercise, then perhaps
take a few days off and let that body rest, then pick it up again,
especially with water, protein and exercise.
I don't know which fence you are on, but as you lay it out for youself and
face the truth, you will come up with a good answer. Take care, and best
to you. Patricia P
