Question:
I am almost 3 months post-op and beginning to feel hungry at times is this normal?
I had my surgery January 11 and have really never felt hungry since my surgery, but the past week or two I've actually been hungry when I've woke up in the morning and before lunch and supper I begin to get hungry, is this normal? — JamieGarvey (posted on March 31, 2006)

Hi, I had my RNY on Jan 3, 2006 and my Dr. told me that I wouldn't feel
hungry for the first 4 months. I too, have been feeling hungry lately.
Mostly at night and a little during the day. It isn't as bad as pre op but
I do notice that I need to eat. This is normal. Hope this helps, Kristy

I am 3 1/2 months out and I feel hungry now. Before, I just felt shaky if
I didn't eat at a certain time. For me, the hunger is ferocious, but I
still can only eat 4 ozs at a time *smile*. I still feel like I ate a big
meal!

I started feeling hungry at about a month and a half. They say everyone is
different. Drink more water is the advice I get.

I am 11 mos. post-op and felt hunger pangs at about 2 mos. post-op. I can
take in about 8-10 oz. now, so I have to be careful about what and how much
I eat, even though my hunger is probably close to what I felt pre-op. I
suggest eating very small amounts often throughout the day to keep hunger
pangs at bay and to prevent overeating (and subsequently feeling sick.)

Yes it is normal to feel hungry just don't eat to fast or to much or you
will have trouble with vomitting.
