Question:
Anyone one ever had an exclusion on coverage and got wls during a hernia repair?
Has anyone ever had a surgeon let them pay the price difference? — Diva2be (posted on February 22, 2006)

If you can afford to pay for your WLS than you should. Otherwise to try and
"trick" the insurance into paying for it would be a big no no for
the surgeon and the hospital, in other words they could be charged with
fraud. If you later on have complications due to WLS no insurance will
cover them, most have sometime 4 years-lifetime exclusions. Only you know
if you can afford to have WLS or not.
Best of Luck
