Hello, I am a 52 year old male. I had surgery on May 16, 2003, and I have
lost 107 pounds as of today. This surgery is the best thing that has ever
happened to me. I feel so much better since I have lost the weight and I
guess the best thing that has happened is that I now have self-esteeme. I
would have this surgery again in a "heartbeat".

Hi Barb! I'm 10 months out. I started at 295.5 and have lost 140 pounds!
I'm now at 155.5! Plan to get to 140. Feeling better than ever. The only
negative I've experienced has been occasional vomiting when I try to eat
too fast or don't chew throughly enough or try to eat when I'm stressed.
Blessings to you in making this decision!

Barb, I'm 53 and had my surgery in July 2003, so I'm almost 8 month out. I
have lost 123.5 pounds so far and have 30-40 more to go. I had a stricture
duringh months 2-3, but that wa taken care of painlessly and now I'm doing
great!

I had my surgery 18 months ago. I'm 5'7, started at 305, and now weigh
between 130-135. I wear a size 4. The first few months were challenging -
there was a real sense of sadness and loss about not being able to eat. I
stuck with it, was very faithful to my doctor's eating plan, and never
pushed it to see if I could eat the foods that made me fat in the first
place. I made a decision to have life altering surgery, and I certainly
was not going to ruin it just becuase it was hard to say "no" to
a donut. Now, I'm very glad I had the surgery. I feel healthy and
energetic, I walk all over, I swim, and I feel much more confident. Good
luck with whatever decision you make.
