Question:
Has anyone every had abdominoplasty/panniculectomy surgery?
I would like to know what to expect when going througha abdominoplasty surgery? Is it painful? How long will the surgery last? What should I expect the day after surgery? Will I be able to walk? I'm scared and I would like some feed back from anyone who has had this surgery. You can email me at [email protected] Thanks Friends!! — Jeanette D. (posted on June 2, 2003)

I had an extended abdomnioplasty on March 31, 2003 along with a breastlift
and brachioplasty. The surgery took a total of 9 hours for all three. For
me, the TT wasn't that painful cause he didn't do alot of stomach muscle
tightening. He said I was ' built' and on a scale of 1-10 for tightening, I
was a 3. A friend of mine had it done a week later and she had ALOT of
tightening done and said it was more painful than the WLS. So, I think it
all has to do with your pain tolerance and how much inner work needs to be
done. You will be able to walk, just kinda stooped over for a bit. The good
drugs do help, ALOT! The day after surgery, I was home and in a drugged up
stupor. I slept ALOT the first few days. But do get up and move around as
much as possible. Hope this helps some.
