PLEASE HELP!!! DENIED FOR HERNIA REPAIR AND POST-OP VENTRAL HERNIA REPAIR

MY INSURANCE CO. TRUSTCARE, THROUGH MY WORK HAS DENIED MY PENICULECTOMY AND MY VENTRAL HERNIA REPAIR D/T NON MEDICAL NECESSITY. I HAD TWO DOCS SEND THE INFORMATION ABOUT LOWER BACK PAIN, LOWER ABD PAIN AND RASHES SENT. HOW CAN THEY DO THIS? ANY LETTERS TO HELP? THANKS AMOS FRIENDS, JOY    — JOY C. (posted on May 13, 2003)

VERY often they deny it at your first attempt. APPEAL - all the way. I had BCBS and had to go two Level two - almost level 3 . At level one they dont use 'plastic surgeons' to 'review' in fact, a Urologist and a LNP did my level one. It was approvedl Level two. If an appeal goes 'outside' the company - they have to get a Plastic surgeon to 'review'.. Dont sweat - appeal! good luck
