Question:
Need a Supportive SW Portland/Beav. Primary Care Doc

My husband and I are both beginning our research to select a new primary care physician that is open and supportive of bariatric surgery for serious patients. Both my husband and I have been studying and talking about bariatric surgery for several months now. Our primary care doctors are unwilling to help us even though we both have "perfect" profiles to be WLS candidates. We have CIGNA/Intel insurance. I would love to hear from folks about doctors who could help us out. We need someone to hang in there for the long haul as a doctor. Please help.    — Syreece M. (posted on August 15, 2002)

I have a great recommendation for you, but she works out of Providence Portland, in NE..but pretty much right off the freeway. I am her first patient to undergo WLS and did a lot of educating.
