Does anyone know anything about Dr. James Madura and Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Il

My HMO is refering me to Dr. James Madura at Rush Presbyterian hospital in Illinois I can not find anything on him in the data base. Please help. Does anyone know his program?    — Laurie M. (posted on April 9, 2001)

All I can say is... I LOVE THIS MAN! I left my HMO approved surgeon for him. He's really a nice, decent and caring man with incredible bedside manners (did I mention competent?). I'm what you may call a low maintenance patient. Meaning I didn't need for him to coddle me, or to convince me either way to have or not have the surgery. He spoke to my intelligence and had compassion for my plight with weight. He's so well respected at RUSH (which happens to be one of Chicago's Premier Hospitals). In terms of a 'program' he doesn't have one (another reason why I like him). He provides you with all the ammunition to get started. I'm really happy to have chosen him. I'm a little over six weeks post op, 40 pounds gone forever and feel better than I have in 10 years. Thanks to Dr. Madura! Good luck on your journey and make sure you say hi to Samantha (Dr. Madura's assistant) for me, she'll know who I am!
