good luck... I had to pay for mine. Insurance companies love to dodge the bill. They won't pay for WLS, but will pay millions for medications for co-morbidities... grrr... Wishing you luck Peggy...

Hi Peggy.... as the former poster said... with private insurance companies.... Good Luck. The weird thing is that I work for Colorado Medicaid, and they not only pay for the WLS surgery, but I have seen them pay for the excess skin removal afterwards, too, when even private insurance companies refuse! Imagine that!!

Hi Peggy, I had my RNY in January 25 2011, Im a light 131 lbs lol I live in Boston and private as well as MassHealth insurance both cover WLS as long asit is amedical necesity, so after the 3wo years if you have issues with rashes due to the excess skin they will aprove for you to have it removed(tummi tuck) but they will not approve your arms or breast that we have to pay for....but what ever excess skin you have hanging on your torso will be removed...it just hast to be documented that your having issues with the fungal issue due to the skin...good luck
