Question:
Back on track
I have lost a little over 100lbs since my roux-en-y bypass in May of 09. My problem is though that I seem to get off track of my weight loss and I want to lose about another 20lbs. Is there something I am doing wrong or should I try a new diet to lose the last 20? Thanks! -Christina — Nina15137 (posted on November 11, 2010)

Well I had my surgery 2 yrs ago and have learned that once your body get
used to your new stomach it geting harder to lose the weight. Your portion
of intake change from the first couple of months of surgery. I suggest
doing weight watchers. I started it way before my surgery and I instantly
started losing 5 to 7 lbs a week.

I find that when I go to the park and walk at night after supper that its
easier for my body to digest what I have eaten...and it has helped me loose
those few lbs..I take my ipod and a bottle of water and a little wash
cloth(for sweat) and I speed walk 10 laps (thats 2 miles in the park I go
to)then I take my time and walk home slowly to cool off that way I get no
cramps or charlie horses, they are the worst, lol it really works...
I hope this helps

Hi Christina, the thing that I think you are forgetting is that when we
take this step to have WLS, we are also committing to a life style change,
not a diet. That means healthy eating and exercise. You say that you are
getting off track. HOW are you getting off track? What are you doing
wrong? Make a note of those things and replace them with good habits. You
have been so wonderfully successful, you should be so proud of yourself!
Try going back to the eating program you were on post surgery. Lots of
protein, no sugar, low fats, no junk foods...you can do it! Make the time
to work in some walking, it can make a huge difference! We all fall off
the wagon from time to time, but know how to get back in the game. Best to
you and let us know how you are doing!
