Question:
getting stuck with the lap band
I am over 2 months post op from lap band, it seems some days I can eat just fine and not get stuck and then other days I seem to get stuck on everything and cannot eat. Does anyone else have this problem? Thank you. Ya'll have a great weekend — march12010 (posted on May 27, 2010)

It seems that the more dense the food is, the slower you have to eat it and
the more you have to chew it for it to go down well. So, for me (I have
had no fills yet) that is the basic difference. I hope that helps!

I am 16 months post op and find the band to be quite fickle. The band has
been a fantastic tool. Many times I just go on with my life and I don't
give it a second thought...next thing I know it is SCREAMING 'I'm here'. I
have been fortunate to be able to eat just about anything I want, just much
less of it. I still veer away from breads and dry cooked meats, but that
is a choice more than a can't. The heat is effecting me. Last year at
this time I had 4cc in a 10cc band. This time I have 7.8ccs in my band
and notice the humid/hot weather makes me constrict. This is a process by
trial and error in regards to my band. I do not "test" it to see
what I can get away with, but I do make sure I get in enough protein and
even if I am very tight I do not turn to slider foods. I tend to go for a
protein shake instead. Good luck and make sure you share with your doc
what is happening. Kimberly
