HI,
My Name is barry and I just Lap/Rny myself on Wed. 2/10 and I am home as
of Fri. I have 5 hole in my stomach from the lap. and the only one that
SHOULD be leaking is the drain hole where the drain was? So if thats the
fluid your referring to yes its totally naormal and your surgeon should
have told you to expect some drainage and MAKE sure you CHANGE THE GAUZE
PADS. As far as the wicked gas pains I feel your pain, 2 reasons and thats
all , 1- make sure your not constipated and use something if you are such
as a suppository -Btw they TRIED to give me in the hospital but I knew my
colon was empty because I did a 7 day liquid pre-op and was clear b4
surgery and # 2 is probaly the most common reason is because they pumped
alot of air in your stomach so they could move around the instruments and
your liver and so on, anyway I have tons of gas , only way to relieve it is
walk, walk , walk ,and try ti do some burp..ing , this is what i was told
and whats working for me.I hope you find this info useful and best of luck
to you.

A little draining is normal. If it keeps up for more than 5 or 6 days
call your Dr. For the gas... Mine was terrible. I chewed gas-x like
candy and keep moving. The more you move around the more quickly the air
that they pumped into your stomach will go away. I even had air pockets
near my neck and shoulders untill it all came out. Remember Each person is
going to react to things differently. We can tell you what we have been
through but if something really doesn't feel right always call your DR

Thanks everyone! I did call the dr and everything is fine. I actually do
feel a little better today. Nurse said gas might also be because of any
milk product I might have had? At this point who knows, just taking it one
moment and one vitamin at a time. I have to say it's wonderful to have this
website.
