Amy, Call you surgeon's office with a hearing friend or family member
present and have them speak to your doctor or his/her assistant with your
questions. Regardless of anyone's experience here, beyond what you have
told us, we cannot know what it is your surgeon found and plans to do to
correct it. So, I would advise having a friend speak with with him/her on
your behalf. My husband is hard of hearing and I do this all the time for
him.

If you have a good relationship with your family physician, go visit him
and have him help you. His staff can make some phone calls and find out
what is going on. He can be an advocate for you, and even type up a letter
for the insurance company if you need one. If you don't have a family
doctor that you have a close, trusting relationship with, please start
searching for someone you can trust and work with. You need to keep both
the surgeon and your family doctor up-to-date with any medical issues you
are dealing with. That way, you'll be more likely to get the kind of
quality care you deserve. I'll keep you in my prayers. I wish you all of
the best. God Bless.
