Question:
Is there anyone having trouble with their knees?
I feel and had arthoscopic knee surgery. Can't seem to heal. Now they said I need a knee replacement. I am in severe pain. Do to not digesting calcuim properly, I take calcuim everyday. Will my knee replacment be successful? I need to live a painfree nonlimping life. — Paige1243 (posted on September 19, 2009)

I had my right knee replaced last summer in Raleigh, NC. The therapy is
rough for the first three weeks, but I stuck with it and continued
outpatient therapy until I regained 100% range of motion in my knee. I
have not had my WLS yet, but after losing 15 or 20 lbs. I expect the knee
to feel like new.
Just a note about calcium - the kind you take matters. Calcium citrate (as
in Citra-Cal) is absorbed by the body better than calcium carbonate which
is in most calcium supplements. Also need to take Vitamin D and magnesium
with it. You can all three in one pill sometimes. I use the generic
version of Citra-Cal with D from Wal-Mart. Good luck! Please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions about the knee replacement.
