Question:
I have a pain in the middle of my stomach on the left side. What is it ?
I had the RNY on 4-20-09. Yesterday, I bent over to shave my leg, and something popped and pulled in my stomach on the left side near the large incision. I called the doctor today and he wasn't too concerned. He just gave me more pain medicine. What was the popping and pulling and why is it still so painful now? Any advice??? — Heidi D. Hey, I actually had the same surgery the same day. Someone told me that the
large incesion is where they really moved the tools around a lot, so thats
probably why its hurting. Sometimes I can feel it spasming like when I
cough or sneeze. But it still is sore and my doctor said to expect that for
2-3 weeks post surgery.

I had surgery 04/21/09 and have felt this since I woke up. The Dr. said
it's normal. Hurts like hell when I cough or bend down. Kind os feels
like a charlie horse in the stomache.

The left side IS where they had to go through all the muscles and move the
equipment around. I had my RNY on 3/2 and went through the same kind of
pain. It did last a few weeks but it does get better. Just keep taking
the pain meds to help relax your body of alot of pain, and I promise, it
does go away. Hang in there and GL
