Question:
Can you tell if you have a fistula?

Does it hurt? I may be looking for excuses but I am wondering why I am not loosing weight. I got back on track with food and itty bitty baby steps with excercise but not eating more than 1000 cals a day for 3weeks and not loosing anything? so discouraging. I dropped about 4 lbs of water weight the first 2 ddays but since then I go up and down within a 5 lb range. How do they test to see if you have a fistula?    — Abby D. (posted on February 18, 2009)

they need to do a fluro test. this is where they make you drink contrast and they can see where it goes. if you have a fistula it will go threw your new stomach then into the old one.
