Question:
Husband was wondering when we can resume bedroom exercise??

I had the sleeve done on Feb 13. I was too embarrassed to ask my doctor and then I just plain forgot. Thought I would get on here and see what others did......    — sweetipie38 (posted on February 17, 2009)

There is no answer to this except when you feel ready. No pain is a good thing. This is a time to get creative. Have fun.

Figure that you should be ready about the same time you should be OK to drive or take long walks. Just be careful.

I was not to embarrassed to ask. I had RNY and the only thing the Dr said was wait 5 days then what ever you are comfortable with.

They best advice I have gotten it don't play gymnatistics right after you have eaten...otherwise I was told just like others as soon as you can drive, etc. Don't be embarassed, you gotta know! =]

As the others said, I believe it is when you feel you are ready. BUT - don't forget to use birth control so you don't get pregnant. You need to get your weight off or be at least a year out from your surgery from what I understand to reduce the chances of a risky pregnancy. And I was told it is easier to get pregnant after the surgery - can't remember why, though. Maybe somebody else has this information.

As long as you aren't feeling any pain and you are comfortable. Best Wishes

That is a very good question. Thanks for asking it. As far as why it is easy to get pregnant.....just a weight loss of 10% increases your odds of getting pregnant by 30% because your hormones begin to balance out. I have PCOS, and thought I would NEVER get pregnant without a fertility specialist. In the summer of 2005 when we moved from England to Alaska(military family) I decided to try the South Beach Diet. I lost over 70 pounds and got pregnant. It was what we wanted, but we were shocked, thinking that wouldn't happen for us. So definitely be sure to be protected when YOU decide YOU are ready. My surgeon's clinic advises two forms of birth control.

I had the VSG done September 8th 2008. My boyfriend and I resumed bedroom exercise about a month later, but you will know when you are ready. Everyone heals differently.

My doctor said no sooner than 6 weeks post-op.He said you even if you think you feel ok and are feeling good you want to be 100% ok before you do. Good luck..I had my surgery Feb 10th so I am in same boat...

As I remember the doctor saying something like 2 weeks but I waited until the drain was out and the site was closed.
