Question:
What is this pain?

I have lap-band on 8/21/08. On occasions I feel pain in my throat. I am chewing very well, nothing big goes down. Am I over eating or what is it?    — myemie (posted on November 10, 2008)

Sounds like acid reflux. Are you taking any meds. for that? You'd be surprised how much it helps.

I have the same thing..i think! When I don't hydrate myself well enough, it almost feels like my throat closes up and is kinda painful a little. Drink a lot more and see if it helps. Good luck!

Are you feeling this pain while you are eating or just any time? If I have an empty pouch/stomach and have throat pain- it is more of a heartburn/acid reflux type of situation if my band is a little too tight. If this is happening while you are eating or just after, it could be that food is backing up a little bit. I would recommend you call your surgeon just to be on the safe side. Dawn Vickers
