Not sure, but heard that South America and Mexico have great facilities and docs for mucho cheapo and you can even have a mini vacation at the same time! You might find info at the "International Forums" boards!

I had my VSG done in Puerto Vallarte on September 5th. Dr. Armando Joya is wonderful. My package included air fare and hotel and surgery. I was in the hotel for the night before surgery. Then two nights at the hospital and 2 more nights at the hotel. While at the hotel post surgery Dr. Joya's assistant Doctors came by to check on me. Here is his web site. I hope you can call the 1-800 number. Gerald is so helpful. Good Luck. Signey http://www.drjoya.com/

I don't know, sometimes cheapest isn't always the best. I have heard about people having problems with aftercare having had their WLS out of the country. Best of luck. Dawn Vickers, RN, BLC, CLC

I was living in Belgium and had mine done there in July 2006. At that time, my insurance paid slightly over $14,000 for it. My dr was excellent...spoke perfect English...and I had no complications. I now live in Indonesia and do my follow up blood work here and send it back to him and he tells me whether I need to increase/decrease particular vitamins. I have heard that Malaysia is also affordable and has good hospitals - I think it's around $10K there. India also has good hospitals for a fraction of the U.S. costs, even when you take into consideration the travel expense.
