WOW 40 pounds that is great. Well, it is okay to think about food, but just pick the right foods. Do you work out? Do you have any hobbies such as reading, computer games, movies? If not, it might be time to do that. Drink your water and try to focus on those things. I never went through that however, I noticed now almost 12 weeks out I can eat more and I tend to try more. You have lost alot of weight be happy and focused on the NEW YOU!!!!

I understand, believe me.... Do not eat any breads, crackers, cereals, potatoes, rice, and check food labels for carbs and sugars, stay away from these foods for life, as they will sabotage your weight loss, and they cause blood sugar to spike up, then when it crashes back down, it makes you overly hungry and craving more carbs/sugar!!!! Eat only what you're supposed to eat at 8 weeks out. And if you eat yogurt, you gotta find one that has very low sugar, search the labels. Keep a bottle of Crystal Light or water or tea near you 24 hours a day, even by the bed at night, and keep drinking it. I myself went through a "mourning" period after surgery, where I mourned food and sweets/candy and trips through the drive-thru, but I did get past that, and you will too. Just focus on how great you're looking and how healthy and pretty your going to look and feel, and instead of obsessing about food, become obsessed with eating healthy and being healthy. Keep coming here to this website; this website has saved me many times!!! I am sure many other people will give better answers than mine, but I am hoping for you and have been where you are, hang in there, and everyone here really does care and will be here for you!!!

Great, now that you are thinking about food start thinking about meal planning. Do a whole week at a time, see what you have in the house, then make a shopping list. Don't let "bad" food in the house ( I make my husband keep M&M's in the garage freezer). I know what I wil eat breakfast, lunch and dinner plus two snacks and of course my water. When i do "crave" something, I EAT IT. Potatoe chips made me sick for two days (will never eat those again) mocha latta ( thought I would have to call 911) I'm the kind you person that if you tell me I can't do something, I'll do it just to prove you wrong. I'm always going to be that one special person that can eat that food thay no other gastric bypass has been able to. I'm so hard headed, but the cravings go away, because I tried it, got sick and no longer want it.

Darlena, congratulations, forty pounds is great. This is why I like the program I am participating in. The treatment is mind and body. They stress long term weight loss. Tammy is right. Idle minds create problems. Find something, anything to do. Try something new. If I have the surgery, I have about twelve books I want to read. Best of luck, you are in my prayers. Keith
