When you were in the hospital they pump a lot of fluids in you and it takes time for it to drop off. Just follow the doctors orders and take the fluids that he has instructed you to and you will start loosing.

If there is nothing medically wrong, just let your body even out like it needs to. Throw the scale out the window. At the doctor's visits is more than enough, it can send us through an emotional roller coaster. Just live it up!! Find new things that you get to add on your list of grand adventures that you couldn't do before surgery!!

I had surgery 02/01/08. I actually gained 10 pounds in the hospital - it was from all of the IV fluid and swelling. I lost that 10 pounds of fluid when I got home, then lost 22 pounds more, and now I am on a "plataeu" for the last 11 days and have not lost any weight in the last 11 days at all. Once the Plateau passes, my weight loss will start back up. My point is, don't be upset if your weight goes up a few pounds, or weight loss stops for a week or even 2 weeks. This is normal. but, over time, you will lose the weight and a year from now you'll probably be down by 100 pounds. Hang in there and do not allow yourself to cheat on the food stages, eat as the Doctor tells you to, drink a protein shake every day (sip it little by little) and sip on water or crystal light in between meals constantly. Take chewable vitamins, calcium, and liquid or chewable B-vitamin complex. Congratulations on your journey to good health and looking good!
