My doc and NUT say between 800-1000 calories. I will be 6 months on the
15th of this month. Check with your doc and NUT to see what they recommend.

My doc and nutritionist recommend getting 100-200 calories less than your
BMR. If you eat fewer calories than that for even a week, your body can go
into starvation mode and you won't lose. You can google BMR to find a
calculator to determine your rate.

Hi Jill. When I had surgery, I counted everything, protein, calories,
everything possible. My surgeon's office recommended to not count
calories, they were more concerned with me getting my amounts of protein in
that having calories counted. It helped me to not count calories, so I
stopped. I think the average advice is about 1000 calories per day, but
personally, I like the advice my surgeon gave. Wls is a whole new way of
thinking, so for me, to give up on the calorie content was a good thing. I
never tried to achieve 1000 calories, or stay behind 1000 calories. I
strive for protein and water every day, and enjoy a few other things along
the way, it works for me. Take care. Patricia P.

I was told never less than 800 calories and to make sure you get enough
protein in. They did say a good target range is 1000-1500
