Question:
I need to lose 8 lbs in 15 days!

Is this possible? Really wanted to be at this weight by my 5 month. Feel like my weight loss is at a stand still, whta can I do to seriously kick it up?    — wecangetright (posted on July 10, 2007)

Hi Kate, There are only a few ways you can do this, that I know of. Popcorn and water and fruit. Or the cabbage soup diet with only , mellon or berries and veggies and a 3 oz piee of chicken each meal, Absolutely NO fat. The 2nd way is much more safe health wise then the first.

I wouldn't give yourself such a timeline. Just follow the program and you should lose some in 8 days, but maybe not all 15. You are stressing yourself out and that could hinder your weight loss.

if you are at a stand still have you tired increasing your protien intake? protien will burn fat and you will help you lose those 8 lbs to reach your 5 month goal. The best way to know how much protien to have per day is divide your body weight in half and that is the min. protien that you should have a day

Before I WLS I tried Adkins and it worked but it didn't last.

Hi, yes you can, I did in less of 9 days. My nutritionist gave a diet with no fats, only salads with lean meats, (baked or broil ) and no rice of carbohydrates. I never felt hungry and y lost 9 pounds in 6 days. That's the detoxy diet for the liver. I hope you do it . Blessings

It is NOT ABOUT NUMBERS. I am sad to see that no one posted this obvious response. Focusing on numbers will only create more obsession about food. I wish you well.

I agree with Beverly. Numbers are simply numbers. Sometimes we need to give up that control and obsessive behavior because that's partly what got us into our "situations" in the first place. I would have liked to lose weight more quickly, but I decided when I got into this to not even set any WL goals for myself except to continue to lose at a steady and healthy pace. That was ONE goal I was able to manage as long as I followed Dr's orders it's been fairly easy and I've lost 80 pounds with lap band so far. I'm not focused on numbers, so I'm not disappointed when I don't reach goals, so I'm not going to "eat" over the disappointment like I would in the past. Our surgery was a phyisical change, there's no surgery that can change the old behaviors or ways of thinking. Only WE can change that. Good luck to you

Return to a healthy full liquid diet and stop obessing about the numbers. You lost weight great the first time after surgery, you can do it again!1 I know it. Good luck. Carolyn 3 wks out

Your OH Profile only states that your PostOp. You've never filled it in so we can't assume which if any surgery you received. I don't know why everyone is posting those fad diets we all tried but yo yo'd the weight back on once we stipped those Mythical Diets. Yes they worked for a little while but if they really worked why would anyone need WLS? Get back to your Basic Postop menu. Pure Protein and zero calorie beverages such as water. At least a gallon a day. And walk till you drop. Let us know how you do,
