Question:
Can I eat any type of low fat blended soup......
I had my surgery on the 23rd of May and everything went well. I am having a hard time eating the creamy soups only because I ate them for two weeks before surgery and I just don't like them any more. Thanks for any help. — kbcelliott (posted on May 26, 2007)

hi there
be careful of labels reading 'low fat' -- make sure they are still low
sugar -- get in the habit of reading the nutritional labels on all foods --
same is true for 'low fat' yogurt -- some are loaded with sugars -- good
luck to you :)

At the full liquid stage anything that you can get through a straw should
be okay. The goal is healing, I wouldn't worry so much about the calories.

You may find that you have problems with creamed soups due to the milk in
them. I ate creamed soups and some vegetable soups that I blended them.
Good luck to you on your path to using.

Be careful about the "non fat" thing. We as bypass people do not
absorb much fat,, and believe me you need some. I did that non fat thing
becuz that is what we as overweight people do and my hair was so brittle,
my nails were shedding, and my skin was flaking away. You need the
fat....look at sugars and stuff like that but you need some fat. You will
notice in your bm's...(i know it is gross) you will crap an oil slick...it
goes all thru us. I don't mean throw down a bunch of fried stuff that
would be insane but eat normal soup and enjoy.
