Question:
DRAINLESS TUMMY TUCK
CONSIDERING TUMMY TUCK HOWEVER ONE DOCTOR I INTERVIEWED DOES A DRAINLESS TUMMY TUCK. ANY ONE EVER HEARD OF THIS. — PARACLETE (posted on April 20, 2007)

With both of my plastic surgeries I had 6 drains. I can't imagine not
having them as much stuff that drains out. You would think if it was stuck
in there you would get infections.

Is the doctor that is offering this "drainless tt" fellowship
trained. The drains are put there to drain any pooling of excess fluid to
prevent infections. I can't see how he/she would be able to have a
drainless procedure when during the tt they tighten the muscles, remove any
unwanted fat and skin?????? I would like to hear how he / she does this and
what his / her success rate is. I would also ask for a patient list for
patients that have had the same procedure for the same reason (tt after
WLS, not just a tt) and talk to them. I would be doing lots of research.

I had a TT, and I had two drains. That fluid has to go somewhere, so after
having that, I wouldn't want to not have a drain. You will swell like all
get out without drains, that is why they do them. It will also take much
longer for the fluid to disapate in your body without drains. You make the
choice, and I would research it on webmd.com or other places, maybe talk to
your local hospital about it, but I wouldn't want it personally, not after
having drains. They were a pain in the butt, and I didn't like them, but I
wouldn't do it without them, they were very beneficial.
Take care, Patricia P.

I also had drains after my plastic surgery procedures. Please make sure
that your doctor is a board certified plastic surgeon. Ask alots of
questions about the excess fluids and the risks of fluid build up without
drains.
