Question:
Got A Cold

Hi well here I am 1 week away from surgery and guess what??? Yep I caught a darn cold. No fever , just a stuffy nose and a taad bit of a sore throat, so the question is will they still do my surgery with a cold???    — drunyan (posted on May 9, 2006)

Hi Dawn...you probably should let your surgeon know now...maybe they can put it off for 1 week or so to be sure you are better by then...but if you arent terribly sick they might still do it...I was anemic and they still did my lapband...good luck to you.....dont worry you WILL

I had the same thing happen 5 days before. It did not stop my Surgery. You should talk to your doctor about what to take it took Ziacam my surgen ok'd me taking it as long as it did not have motrin or aspiren in it. Don't let it discourage you. It will happen!! Good Luck!!!

I had a sore throat, went to my pcp, got a 3 pk of zithromax, took it for 3 days. I notified my surgeon. My throat hurt for a few days, but I got along ok.
