I have found a members profile that offers a huge list of co-morbidities.
Take a look at it, I am sure you can find one or more than pertain to you.
Good Luck

You are significantly oveweight, but have no comorbidities? How about high
blood pressure? WEre you tested for sleep apnea? I had it and did not
even know it!

Hi Kimmie,
Just a note, I too am waiting to have the RNY surgery, I am in my 4th
year of fighting with insurance to have it done, within the last year I
have switched insurance to Blue Cross/Blue Shield, I just had the 1st pre
authorization sent in and was denied, They say they don't have enough
information on the weight loss regimens that I have performed. I have gone
through nothing but pure heck with them and the other insurance (United
Health)......I too, have the Medabolic Syndrome, Which means you are
insuline resistant and pre-diabetic, I have been put on diabetis medication
(2000mgs a day!!!!!!) and sent to see a neutritionist to get this under
controll, (so I can avoid insuline injections) and now BCBS will not even
pay my neutrition therapy bills, Because of the fact that I am not a full
blown diabetic taking insuline, I have gone round and round with them and
get nowhere. Keep up the hard work, hope it pays off in the long run.

Hi,
It is "Metabolic Syndrome," actually. If you do a Google or
Yahoo! search with the correct spelling you can find out a lot about the
syndrome and how it can affect you.
Wishing you well,

Hi Kimmie-
I am kindof in the same boat. My understanding is that "Metabolic
Syndrome" is the new medical term for "obesity". They are
actually one in the same. I could be wrong, but this was my assumption. So,
Basically what they are saying is that you have no co-morbitities. My
cholesterol, blood pressure and sugars are fine. I used arthritic knees and
joints- you may want to get your knees checked out,- Irritable Bowel
Syndrome- which many people have but forget to list, Asthma (but you would
probably know if you had that). Also, do you have irregular woman problems?
I know that it is a personal question, but that is a sign that you may be
insulin resistant (which can be a precursor to future type II diabetes).
All in all, I would have to say, dig a little further. If not, you may want
to check into going onto your husband's insurance. Would this work? or
going to another doctor.
Hope that helps!!
