Question:
6 1/2 wks out, when is this nausea going to end?

I had an open revision from VBG to RNY on 10/24/05. At first I had just some occasional nausea (no vomiting) but in the past 10-14 days it has gotten worse, not a day goes by now without it. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with eating, comes any time of the day. I am taking Zofran which helps but I am SO SICK of this. I want a life back. I can't go anywhere because I never know when it will hit me out of the blue. I drink tea with Splenda in it all day long because the taste of water or Crystal Light makes me queasy and I am trying so hard not to dehydrate. Needless to say I am not eating much either, just don't feel like eating..........HELP!!!    — esthjb (posted on December 7, 2005)

I am 6 days out as of today!!!!! I must say that honestly the only thing that makes me get nauseated is plain water. I can handle the cold popsicles, decaf tea w/splenda, broths...but as soon as I put water in my mouth I gag & if I do swallow any about 5 min. later I get that sick feeling. I have to admit each day has been getting better & today I haven't had any feeling of sickness. I have actually been able to take more in with each passing day but as long as it ain't the water lol I wish you luck & if you are that worried about it please Call you SURGEON ASAP like the other member said. Good luck & God bless.

Have you tried to drink tea w/o splenda? You maybe having a hard time with the sugar. Are you taking little sips? You have to drink really slow or that will upset you too. On 12/27 I will be 4 years out. From time to time I get that nausea feeling too. Maybe this occurred before surgery and being over weight we didn't recognize this. Definitely keep your surgereon posted on your problem. He really is the only one who can help you. Phyllis A

Tracy, I had a tough time with naseau early out to. It lasted for me about 8 weeks and then magically disappeared. I hope you feel better soon, you probably should discuss this with your surgeon, some people have a tough time with Splenda products. Dana

I have heard that if you up your protein, you won't get as nauseas. When I eat my meals, I eat the first bite and have to wait a while, but I feel sick and have to wait until it passes.
