Question:
How long did it usually take to get scheduled once insurance is approved?
My insurance was approved and my chart has been given to the scheduler for pre-op testing date and surgery date....I am going to SVCH with Dr. Schreiber and I need a date ASAP!??? — hollibean (posted on November 8, 2005)

I was approved on a Friday and got my date the following Thursday. My
surgery was 2 weeks later. But it depends on how busy your surgeons office
is.

I took my insurance company less than a week to approve my surgery. When my
surgeon received the fax from the insuramce company they immediately called
me scheduled my date. I had all of my pre-op testing done prior to
submitting my paper work to the insurance company. Good Luck

I got my date prior to approval. they said I could always cancel if it did
not get approved. Call the surgeon, you should be able to get your date
right away, although the date may be months away if the surgeon is busy.

I got approved in a matter of hours after my surgeon's office faxed my
insurance company. The longest wait came in getting a date for it.....5
weeks after I paid my copay!

My surgeon actually gave me a date before I was approved. He said I could
always cancel if I did not get approval, and his office helped with getting
it.
