I didn't have insurance and had to pay cash for it. I was able to borrow
the money and my surgeron and the hosptial gave a cash price for
it.(discount) Good Luck

I would say Your best bet would be to try to get on disability if Your not
able to work then You will have ins. to pay for it. Otherwise I would
guesstimate there are several hundred other folks wanting to know the same
thing and I really feel for all who can't afford to do it Lord knows I
couldn't have if I hadn't had ins. BUT You can try to get ahold of the voc
rehab in Your area and see if they can help some will pay for it some won't
But You have to show them how Your weight affects Your work, or lack there
of. Best wishes Shell

Have you checked into state medical plans? In most states, people with
children can get on their plan. Call your county's social services office
and I'm sure they can direct you. No guarantee that they would pay for the
surgery, but it's worth checking into, and you need some kind of health
insurance in any event. I know here in Minnesota some people have had the
surgery paid for by MinnesotaCare. Good luck!

Thanks for all the answers, most of the answers I am getting is to try to
get state assistance, but being that I work i can't get assistance from the
state, thats just how NJ. So I guess i would have to just try to do a
self-pay. Thanks again for the responses

Emily and Peck had great suggestions -- I'd follow those if I were you. If
you have disability/Medicaid/Medicare already -- I'd encourage you to start
a dialogue with your doctor and take it from there.

Hi. Many of my patients use one of several finance companies to help cover
some surgery costs. It will depend on credit, but some are OK with poor
credit scores. Check out PATIENT RESOURCES on www.drlomonaco.com for links
to 3 financing companies we have referred patients to.
