Question:
yes does anyone take DEPAKOTE ER doctor gave it to me today

i am afaird to take it can some one help thay say you can gain about 20 to 25 pds. dont want to do that for sure but need somthing for the disorder for sure help if you can please nancy adkins    — nancy A. (posted on February 24, 2005)

Nancy, I take Depakote ER. I have not gained weight due to this. It has really helped me...Judy

I took Depakote before my surgery after about two months I told my doctor I love what it does for my mood but Im afraid Im going to eat my own arm. It helped me but I was hungary 24/7 very, very hungary. He switched me to Lamactil and the cravings stopped and it worked almost as well as Depakote for the depression. Good luck.

Have you had a thyroid panel done? Many people can develop hypothyroid after WLS.

Great name by the way!! I take topamax it is given for, migraines,eplipesy, depressive disorders such as bipolar, has been found effective in weight loss and neuropathy, My neurologist started me on it for the migraines, and neuropathy and found it was helping with my depression and I have had no weight gain issues like I have had with the other neuropathy medications she put me on...Nancy

Try it first. If you don't like the side effects you can always ask your doctor to switch you to something else. And I'm sure you will notice any increased appetite after a few weeks of taking the drug.
