I'm not as far out as you are with time, but want you to take a look at it
from a different perspective. Consider this: the next time you're in the
grocery, pick up a pound of butter or hamburger and realize that 90 of
those are now "missing" from your body. Can you imagine
strapping 90 lbs. back on and trying to carry those 90 around again?
You've done so well! Thinking about your diet can be healthy and can keep
you in check; however, eating is essential to your overall health. Focus
on your proteins and getting your water and getting balanced nutrition.
Take your vitamins and your calcium to ensure you're getting the
essentials. If you aren't getting your exercise, I encourage you to do so,
as it helps not only physically, but mentally. Take care and be
encouraged. 90 lbs is a wonderful testimony so far!

I think you are listening to the old pre op tapes in your head telling you
that you have to diet to lose weight. Instead you need to re program
yourself to eat sensibly and at regular intervals so that your body doesn't
go into starvation mode and hang on to the stored fat. I know you think
you are a slow loser, but everyone is different and an average of 3 lbs. a
week is considered a success. Please don't obsess about dieting, eat you 3
meals, protein first then veg, then fruit, be sure to get in enough water
and exercise. I am still pre op but I have already started the routine..
It is tough. Exercise is the hardest for me. I know I will need to be
coached to keep it up but I am doing it. My doctor requires 30 minutes of
walking every day. He won't even do the surgery if you can't do the
walking. I have heard that exercise is a stree reliever, I can't testify
to that but I'm going to try to keep it up. Please don't be down on
yourself, think of how much you have already achieved and not what you
still want to. I will be praying for your continued success and your well
being. Blessings. Carolyn

Dear Nancy,
I know I became depressed around this time and started on zoloft. It
helped me alot. I can't answer for your situation but it sounds like
depression. There is much help medication wise out there. Don't avoid it.
Love, Carla
