I am approximately 12 wks out and have not had a problem with OJ. I stick
to fresh squeezed OJ. Nothing tastes better. I limit the frequency and
stick to 1/2 cup! OJ really does not have great nutritional value! Good
luck!

I have been drinking OJ since 6 weeks out (am now 2 months) my surgeon told
me that if it does not make me sick, and I can handle it to go ahead and
drink it. (My potassium is low and that will help a little with this
problem) I can really only drink Minute Maid so far ..it's the only one
that tastes good to me.

I have been drinking oj since about 6 or 8 weeks postop. I don't have a
problem with it, but I do buy the low-acid type. I think this is a trial
and error process. You will just need to try it and see how your body
reacts.

I have yet to find an OJ that isn't very high in sugar. I try to limit my
sugars to 6g per meal and most OJ's are more like 22g. Think: 1 Milky Way
with a bite missing. Same, same.

I am diabetic and I was forced to try orange juice at 6 weeks post op to a
really low blood sugar up. I did not dump. I did dump on fruit though.
Wierd huh? I drink orange juice just when i have to get my blood sugars
up. Empty calories otherwise. ~~Dawn Phillips
