Question:
Should I feel when I'm full on liquids?
I had my lapband a week ago today and have been on full liquids for 4 days now. My question is: I am not able to tell when I am full, should I? I'm thinking that since I'm on liquids I won't feel it at my band point because they are liquid but should I? I don't want to over do it and I find my stomach growling when I lay in bed, obviously hunger pains. I think I tend to eat a yogurt or jello just to be on the safe side of not slipping. your most likely haven't had your band filled yet. my dr. didn't put any
restriction in my band until 6 weeks after i had the surgery. so yes, you
are going to feel hungry. your stomach is probably not swollen any more
from surgery and that is why you are feeling hungry now. drink your
protein shakes and keep the foods to like cream of wheat, yogurt, like you
mentioned. it's hard to remember what i did almost 2 years ago. but i will
tell you this!! it is SO worth it. i've lost 105 pounds and have gone from
a size 22/24 to an 8/10. AND i'm getting ready for nip and tuck surgeries
on march 11th. the lap band is the BEST thing ever. just remember, you
must do what you are told and make it work for you. do everything right
and you will love the results. best of luck!

I was hungry for months after my surgery. I followed ALL the rules, but
when your band was placed I am assuming it was empty. I did not achieve
restriction until after my 6th fill 8 months later. Be patient...It will
be worth the wait.

I had my band on 12-24-09 and I agree, you will fill hungry, I have had 3
fills w/7cc in my band, I still feel like I need maybe 1 more fill. My Dr
told me to be aggressive with the fills and If I could eat more than the
size of my fist(1cp) I needed a fill even though I am losing weight. I can
feel some restriction, so I try not to go over the 1 cup. Measure your
foods has helped me. Also I was told to eat breakfast instead of protein
shake if at all possible, wait 3 hrs then drink shake and so on throughout
the day. Make sure to get 64 oz of liquids every day 1/2 hr before and 1/2
hr after meals, I know right now you are still on liquids but thought this
might help as you progress. You can email me at my personal email address
if you [email protected] Good luck and God Bless

Thank you all. No, I haven't had my fill as of yet and thats why I was
guessing that I was going to feel this way because I'm only on liquids and
haven't had a fill yet. I see my dr. tomorrow so hopefully he can shed some
light on a few questions I may have. Thanks so much for your answers.
