Question:
Cottage Cheese Test Alternative
I read the answer about the cottage cheese test to see if your pouch has stretched. I've tried to eat cottage cheese several times and it always makes me sick. Can you use Yogurt as an alternative? Thanks Janie — RetiredElizabeth (posted on October 10, 2009)

I am curious as what test your are talking about? Is this somewhere in the
Q&A place I can search for it? I am so new to this website, just trying
to learn. Sorry I have no answer. I actully love cottage cheese, my problem
area is fish. I am going to try to eat it but I dont think it will stay
down.

I don't think yogurt will work as it really is more of a "liquid"
- a slider food. I'm not sure what you could use in its place. Perhaps
someone else will have the answer. (The cottage cheese test means you
measure out one cup of cottage cheese and then, eating slowly and chewing
thoroughly, eat until you feel satisfied - not full! - but satisfied. You
are suppose to be able to measure how much your stomach can hold by seeing
how much you eat this way.)

Try Ricotta. When Cottage Cheese made ne nauseous, that's what I used. It's
very similar texture-wise. NEver done that type of test, though.

How about measuring out 1 cup of refried beans or baked beans or some form
of beans. Woudn't that work about the same as cottage cheese only there is
no liquid involved.
