Question:
20 weeks out and at a stand still...
I am 20 weeks post-op from having VSG and have lost 57 pounds. I have not been this happy or energetic in a very long time. The problem is...I have not lost any weight in the last 4 weeks. Is this normal and do you have any suggestions? — NewBeginnings4Me (posted on July 29, 2009)

hi I had rny on 2/19/09 and have had about 3 stalls. until yesterday i had
stalled for 31/2 weeks. I know it's frustrating but it's a part of loosing
weight. You need to refocus and determine if there's something you're
doing wrong. If not try to change up your diet or exercise. You body get
accustomed to your habits and sometimes you need to shock it back. In
order to stop my stall I started counting my calories again, I uped my
protein and I lowered my carbs and sugars. Don't worry the stall will
pass. Good Luck to you.

Bridgette, hang in there! While I'm only pre-op for lap-band, I know about
stalls... they are SO discouraging!!! Try to focus on the good weight loss,
write it all down, and you will get past this!!

I am 5 yrs out with RNY I have kept my weight at 125lbs down from 247. It
takes 2 years to totally lose all your weight. When you stall your body is
catching up, this gives your skin a chance to shrink too. You are still
losing inches. I am sure you can tell in your clothes.Don't worry this is
not a diet. You can't fail. Drink lots water, eat small meals all day,
Walk. Don't worry this works. Good Luck..
