Question:
Symptoms of a hernia
I called my doc and complained about having alot of trapped gas. He asked does the pain radiate around to my back and I said yes. He wants me to come because I could have a hernia. I would like to know what exactly are the symptoms of a hernia? — tia24tx (posted on November 26, 2007)

The pain you are descrivbing is common. Also sometimes other gastro
symptoms...mostly abdominal or back pain. Particulalry after eating. If you
are thin enough you might also find a lump on your abdomen somewhere where
the intestines is protruding through the muscle. I had a very bad hernia
(being overweight I never knew about it...they do not always have symptoms
eithers), pre-op, but repair was no big deal done outpatient lap.
