Hi! Any tips on Vegetarian diet ???

HI Madhvi, I am Vishal and i myself is a vegetarian. The best thing for us is the
vegetables, low fat cottage cheese, alot of beans and legumes. We need to
concentrate on the protein. Get in atleast 80g everyday. Fruits, no fatty
foods nor oil, ghee. Everything low fat dairy products. Thats all. I am 4
months out and in total i have over 120lbs in last 7 months. I have been
exercising crazily though. Let me know if u need more tips. goodluck.

Im vegetarian also....I'm only 4
weeks out....So i'm going to compile recipes for WLS that are vegetarian...I like speghetti
sqaush...have u tried those? they taste great easy to make...and u can even
make baked speghetti with it...and its really good...cause i know WLS
people shouldnt eat pasta...so this is a good substitute for it....try
it....its great...hope this helps...

Hi, I am not personally a vegetarian, (and have never tried tofu)
but, at my education class yesterday, the nutritionist pointed out that on
our list of recommended proteins, tofu has the highest amount. And
(according to him) tofu has no taste on its own, he recommended sauteeing
it with a little garlic and onion and it will take on that flavor. He said
it's rather tasty. Also, I thought yesterday (I am not fond of cottage
cheese, but again, it will be good for me) You can sprinkle dry sugarfree
lime, etc, flavored jello in it and add a small amount of lite crushed
pineapple and make sort of a "Tahitian Salad", and that is
something I do like. Get creative and good luck!

I am pre-op (hopefully getting my date tomorrow!) and I have been a vegetarian for 8 or 9 years now. I would
recommend alot of soy based foods. You can find books at the library or
book store about soy based cooking. Also, look for vegetarian cookbooks that have the
nutritional info at the bottom. Also, I'm told that protein shakes will be
your best friend and you will need to commit to them for life (or some form
of protein supplement). Also, check out some of the fake meats at your
local Whole Foods or Health Food store. I know that the Morning Star brands
make alot of higher protein products because many contain eggs, if you're
ok with eating those. I would really recommend parusing Whole Foods Markets
if you have once in your area. You can also ask an associate there to help
you, as they almost always have a few in house veggies who can give you
some great product recommendations. Some Whole Foods even have "Vegetarian Tours" where they canvas
the store with you and check out all the veggie stuff. Just an idea. Once
I'm post op, I want to make a guide, but that won't be for a while. Good
